Malaika Collective started off as a fashion brand: Malaika Apparel Co., that started off in a tiny dorm room in the spring of 2015. Growing up as a first - generation Ghanaian - Kenyan - American college student, Rita felt the happiness, pain, frustration, joy, anger, and excitement black people experienced in America. She addressed different social issues through simple and meaningful designs for her cloth ing line Malaika Apparel Co. Eventually shifting from her business to a movement - Malaika Collective allowed her to silently address various misrepresentations of black people through visual art and public performances.

We provide a space for people to explore and share their love of Blackness and other diasporic cultures through content, goods, and services. Whether it is through simple greetings, clothing that inspires self - love, or conversations with like - minded people, we provide a platform for Black creatives to share their work, stories, and experiences with the world. We are committed to preserving Black culture and providing a safe space online & IRL for those who are marginalized in mainstream media.

We are two sisters who love baking, we started a cake supply shop to provide our community with hard to find items. At CakeBox, we have more than 350 chocolate molds, a wall full of cookie cutters and we carry every color in chocolate melts. We love to help people learn how to make desserts and provide helpful tips to others trying to start a career in baking. Pecan Milk Co-op is a Black-owned and LGBTQ-owned worker-owned business founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 2014. They use Georgia pecans to make dairy-free milk, and other plant-based foods, with simple ingredients in glass packaging. Instead of using fortified vitamins or emulsifying additives, Original Pecan Milk contains just filtered water, Georgia pecans and sea salt. In 2021, Pecan Milk Cooperative obtained a Tennessee Department of Agriculture license to become the first and only business in the country to manufacture and wholesale plant-based milk with hemp extract CBD as an ingredient.
